Concrete looks solid, but it is porous. Water, oil and stains soak in, and in Northwest NC winters that moisture freezes and thaws repeatedly, which leads to cracking and surface damage over time.
Sealing reduces how much the concrete absorbs. That protects it from water intrusion and staining, and depending on the sealer it can also enhance the color and extend the life of the concrete for years to come.
Where we seal
- Driveways
- Patios and walkways
- Garage floors
- Concrete that has started to stain, dust or flake
How we approach it
Clean
Dirt, growth and stains are cleaned off first, because sealer locks in whatever is under it.
Dry
The concrete needs to be dry before sealing.
Seal
We apply a sealer in the finish you want, from a natural look to an enhanced one.
Common questions
Does sealed concrete get slippery?
It depends on the sealer and finish. If the area gets wet, such as a walkway, patio or ramp, tell us and we will talk through slip resistance.
What is the difference between sealing and polishing?
Sealing protects the existing surface. Polishing changes the surface itself. See concrete polishing.
