Graffiti and Stain Removal

A multi-step chemical process that breaks down graffiti, rust stains and efflorescence, then washes them away to renew the surface's original appearance.

Some stains do not come out with washing alone. Spray paint, orange rust marks and the chalky white haze of efflorescence all sit in or on the surface, and each one needs its own treatment.

We use a multi-step chemical process to break down and lift the stain, then thoroughly wash the surface clean. The goal is to renew the original look of the surface without harming the material underneath.

What we remove

  • Graffiti and spray paint on concrete and masonry
  • Rust stains, such as orange streaks from metal, sprinklers or well water
  • Efflorescence, the white chalky deposit on stone, brick and concrete
  • Other deep discoloration on exterior surfaces

How we approach it

  1. Identify the stain and the surface

A rust stain, a paint mark and efflorescence call for different treatments, and the surface decides what it can safely handle.

  2. Treat it

We apply a chemical process chosen for that stain and let it break the stain down.

  3. Wash it away

We thoroughly wash the treated area so no residue is left behind.

  4. Check the result

Older, deeply set stains can take more than one round.

Results depend on the stain and how porous the surface is. Some marks on very porous material cannot be removed completely, and we will tell you what to expect before we start. Efflorescence usually returns if moisture keeps moving through the stone, which is why we also recommend sealing afterward. You can read more in our guide to efflorescence on stone.

Common questions

What is the white haze on my stone or concrete?

It is most likely efflorescence: mineral salts carried to the surface by moisture that stay behind as the water evaporates. See our guide for how it forms and how it is treated.

Can you remove spray paint from brick?

Often yes, but brick is porous, so results vary with the paint, how long it has been there and the condition of the brick. We assess it first and set expectations before starting.
